Vendor Rules & Guidelines
🚗 Vendor Parking & Traffic Notes:
To help ease parking concerns in downtown Tacoma on a Saturday (yikes!), FREE, secure-access parking is available for vendors and volunteers on the top two levels of the Park Plaza North Garage, located just steps from the event space, following load-in.
The transit tunnel is NOT available for public parking.
Do NOT park in the “DO NOT ENTER” transit tunnel.
The transit tunnel is listed on Google Maps as “Pierce Transit Tunnel.” Please be mindful of this when navigating.
✨ Booth Setup & Presentation:
Booths must remain within the contracted footprint (no overflow into walkways).
As fellow vendors, we understand that some vendors may require more flexibility with their booth set-up. We want you to be comfortable and successful, so please let us know if you have any special requests. We will do our best to accommodate!
Tables, tents, and displays must be clean, stable, and professionally presented.
All tents must be weighed with a minimum of 25 lb. per leg (required for safety), but a minimum of 50 lb. per leg is strongly recommended.
Signage should clearly represent your business.
Vendors are responsible for their own canopies, tables, chairs, and display materials.
✨ Conduct & Community Expectations:
Vendors must treat customers, coordinators, volunteers, and fellow participants with respect, kindness, and professionalism.
Harassment, aggressive sales tactics, or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.
Readers, healers, and energy workers must ensure clients give informed consent and avoid making medical, legal, or guaranteed-outcome claims.
✨ Product & Service Requirements:
Items sold must be safe, legal, and appropriate.
Prices must be clearly labeled for all items. (Customers don't like having to ask. It's awkward for everyone involved, especially when you disclose the price and the customer timidly places it back on your table.)
Homemade consumables must meet all state/local health and labeling regulations.
Intuitive or healing services must follow ethical guidelines; no fortune-telling claims promising outcomes.
NWMM reserves the right to deny items that are unsafe or inappropriate for the event.
AI 'art' is prohibited!
Counterfeit tarot/oracle decks are prohibited!
✨ Market-Day Operations:
Vendors must remain open and present during all market hours. If you need a bathroom or food break, kindly ask your booth neighbor to keep an eye on your booth. If an NWMM volunteer is available, they'll be happy to assist you.
Early departure is not permitted without prior approval from NWMM staff. Again, as fellow vendors, we understand that sometimes things come up that are out of our control. If you need to leave early, please communicate with NWMM staff or volunteers.
Vendors are responsible for cleaning their booth area before leaving. Also, picking up stray litter during load-out is greatly appreciated!
Electricity must only be used for approved equipment. Vendors are responsible for bringing their own extension cords, tape to secure cords, etc.
Licensing & Permit Requirements
📄 Required for ALL Vendors:
Washington or Oregon State UBI or EIN
A Tacoma Business License is only required if you anticipate earning more than $2,000 in Tacoma during the calendar year.
If you plan to attend just a few Northwest Metaphysical Market (NWMM) events, you do not need to apply for a Tacoma Business License.
However, if you plan to attend four (4) or more NWMM markets, a Tacoma Business License is required, as you are more likely to exceed the $2,000 annual threshold.
If you initially plan to attend only a few markets and later decide you’d like to participate in more, you can apply for the Tacoma Business License at that time and submit a copy to us once it’s approved!
This approach allows vendors flexibility while remaining compliant with City of Tacoma requirements.
Tacoma Business License (Cost: $37.50 for a one-year term)
If you don't already have a Tacoma Business License, you can apply here: https://www.filelocal-wa.gov/Default_FileLocal.aspx
🍴 Additional Requirements for Food Trucks & Food Vendors:
Washington State Food Worker Card
Vendors are responsible for obtaining any additional permits that may be required by:
City of Tacoma
Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department
Tacoma Fire Department
WA State Department of Agriculture
Any other governing entities
All food and beverage vendors must comply with local health and fire codes.
Vendor Application Process:
We curate our vendor lineup to create a well-balanced, high-quality market experience. Applying is simple:
1. Submit Application
Follow the link at the bottom of this page to access all applications through the Eventeny platform. Please complete all fields.
2. Application Review
We evaluate applicants based on product fit, category balance, professionalism, and overall alignment with the market. Your products do not necessarily have to be 'witchy' or metaphysically inspired to be approved! Even if your application isn't approved for one market, it doesn't mean it won't be approved in the future. Please continue applying! :)
3. Acceptance & Next Steps
Once approved, you will receive an acceptance email, and the card on file will be charged to secure your space. Approval email and payment receipt will be sent simultaneously. If you would like an invoice, we can accommodate this. If you prefer this payment option, please communicate this in the "Special Requests" section of your application.
4. Receive Event-Day Details
At least two weeks before the event, you will receive your load-in/load-out instructions (including load-in time and load-in group), final booth placement, parking details, and any updates.
If there are any concerns with your booth placement, please email Heather as soon as possible (nwmetaphysicalmarket@gmail.com). We can't promise that every request will be granted, but we're committed to doing our best to accommodate everyone to the best of our ability!
If you're ready to share your craft, energy, or service with the Downtown Tacoma community, we would love to have you with us at the Northwest Metaphysical Market. See you soon!🌙✨
